What's not to love?  It's a free zoo in the middle of Lincoln Park.  And for a free park, it's pretty damn nice. Want to go for a walk through the park, why not take in a zoo while you're at it?  The grounds are well kept, the venue is beautiful, and there are lots of animals to look at.  It's a great way to kill a couple hours, be it with parents visiting from out of town, or with friends who have kids. We recently took in the zoo lights exhibit that goes up at Christmas time.  It was crowded and most of the animals were hiding indoors, but it was still a lot of fun to walk around look at the impressive lights display.   Once again, it's an excellent way to kill a couple of hours if you're looking for fresh...

Like any sane person, I am powerless to resist the pure awesomeness of a light show synchronized to Christmas music. Going to the Lincoln Park Zoo for the first time in nearly seven years, I felt like I was transported back in time. I was probably more excited to see the monkeys than most of the kids! We were practically running from place to place just to ensure that we saw everything before the zoo closed. In this economy, people are trying to save where they can. Unfortunately, but understandably so, people have been cutting back on the elaborate Christmas decorations the last few years.
