The Lisbon Zoo (Jardim Zoologico) offers visitors a unique experience where they can see animals from different parts of the world. Many animals at the zoo are endangered and the main mission of the organization is to preserve and protect species of animals that are on the verge of going extinct. Families can see various gorillas and chimpanzees in the Africa section or watch the pelicans feed as they walk from this are to the Asia section of the park. The Tiger exhibit features a clear glass window that lets visitors look in at these huge cats that sometimes will walk right up to the glass. There is a 40 minute dolphin show happening daily at 11am, 3pm and 5pm. The Sea Lions Feeding show is another popular choice among families and can be seen each day at 10:30am and 1pm. The zoo has a children's farm where little kids can learn about domestic animals and a reptile house where they can see iguanas, snakes and alligators. Cable car rides are free and offer amazing views of the park. Parents can also pay a small fee to take their kids on a fun train ride through the zoo. This zoo is known for maintaining natural habitats for its animals and giving them plenty of space to live comfortably. It is located within walking distance of the local metro, bus and train stations, making it easy for travelers to reach the attraction using public transportation.

There is a picnic area of the zoo for families who pack a lunch. Visitors who want to leave and come back can get a stamp for re-entry.
