London Aquarium: Not too big, not too smallFlag review
Having walked past the outside of the aquarium many times, I was expecting something much smaller, so was happy to see more than I anticipated. Fortunately, it was neither too big nor too overwhelming, as we were visiting with my 4-year-old niece, who's attention span isn't always up to spending hours at a place. There was a good variety of sea life (over 500 species), some interactive exhibits to learn about modern dangers to sea life (pollution, litter) as well as some areas where you can talk to staff about particular species, like the rays (maybe even feed them!). Overall, this is a fun and educational day out.
Tips for Families
Although you can go through the aquarium at your own pace, allow about 2 hours. Even the littler ones should like it as there is so much to see, even from the comfort of a stroller. It pays to purchase tickets in advance, as the line to get in can be quite lengthy. While the aquarium has a gift shop, there is no place to eat, and no food allowed in the exhibit area.
