Disable Unwelcome
I had to cancel my mother’s birthday flight trip due to her illness. She is now disable and wheelchair bound due to a hard battle with cancer and chemotherapy. I had heard such great things about the hotel so I thought that I would give them a try. Especially seeing that my mom could not travel far. I was interested in adding the Spa package to her stay. So I decided to call to ensure that they could accommodate her due to her limited mobility. But I was informed by the clerk by her overhead that I would not be allowed to get any form of body massage but I would be welcome to get a facial, pedicure or a manicure. And she was told this because they were not going to lift me. I attempted to ease their mind by informing them that it would not be necessary for them to lift my mother. She is able to transfer with my assistance. But I was still denied the massage treatment due to my informing them that my mother does have a mobile disability. I was truly offended that my mother seemed to be penalized and denied services from the Immerse Spa due to her being disable. I am not sure but I don’t believe that is the kind of services that MGM is all about. It is so very unfortunate that although I had not been drawn to the downtown area but due to the recent changes I was looking forward to the experience for her as well as myself for future reference. Unfortunately The Immerse Spa treatment has shed an unfortunate light on the EQUAL quality of service from the hotel for everybody including people with disabilities. But thats ok I will find another business that will respect and at least attempt to accommodate ALL people. Including my mothers limited disability with their services. Sure hope that this is not normal practice for a 4-star hotel. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

I am uncertain of the courtesy to kids at this hotel because treatment at the spa for disable for senior adults is insulting and cruel.
