Mardi Gras can be kid-friendly!

Tips for Families

The parades are very, very crowded and very, very loud, so it is likely not a place for very young children. Our kids loved collecting the beads, and their rooms are still decorated with the beads they took home from the trip. Of course, I would definitely recommend not taking your kids down Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras, because they'll certainly see some craziness if you did.

Tips for Families

Take the family to get Muffaletta sandwiches at the Central Grocery -- to eat there or as a picnic for later.
