Great place to relax while the kids are having fun!

Enjoyed relaxing by the kid friendly pool which has a water slide that accommodates kids 3 and up. There are a few exotic animals on the property which is great for kids as well. Baby sitters and a kids camp are available if mom and dad want to have a chill afternoon.

Tips for Families

The regency club was well worth it for us as they have fruits, cookies, juices, and snacks that you can take with you. Also great happy hour for the parents.

Perfect for kids and golfers!

Second time back to Honua Kai in two years. Reason: kids love the pools, we love the amenities, and I love that it's close to Kapalua golf courses. Staff is very friendly, pools are great, resort is on the water, Dukes is conveniently located.

Tips for Families

Pack light and do your laundry every couple days. Less to lug around. Laundry in each unit Valet... it's already included in your daily resort fee Bring plastic grocery bags with you. Maui has banned plastic. Drive to La Haina to get groceries at Foodland or Safeway. Foodland if you want really good Poke. Times market (across the street) is ok but not great.

Awesome Family Hotel in Maui

We went here several years ago and can't wait to go back! It was and still is our most favorite vacation and hotel! The pools are the best there and kept our kids entertained for days. The food was excellent as well!

I think this is a great vacation to take with a variety of ages. When we went, our kids were 4 and 6, but I think they'd have just as much fun now that they're teenagers.

A place I'd go again and again

This is a great place to stay for families. The main pool has a water slide, a jacuzzi under a rock bridge that the kids enjoy, and adjacent to it is a kiddie pool in about a foot of water for the little ones. Our kids vary in age and we were able to stay at the main pool area all day, all week since it catered to all the ages. The big plus is to just invest in renting a gazebo. It made life so much easier with the kids and you can order food for them to bring to the gazebo! The resort is right on the beach so when the kids get sick of the pool, it's a quick walk to the ocean for some snorkeling. The snorkeling was so much fun. The resort has gear that you can rent. We saw eels and turtles...it was AMAZING!

Tips for Families

1. Rent a gazebo. 2. Rent snorkeling gear. 3. Stop by the store and pick up groceries before heading to the resort. They have a small kitchen stocked with all the utensils and pans you need to cook breakfast and the occasional lunch. 4. Take advantage of the kids club.

Road to Hana..Road to Heaven

We had heard mixed reviews about traveling the Road to Hana during our recent trip to Maui, HI. My husband , 10 year old son and I are so thankful that we took the recommendations of our concierge, Dave McCarthy of Aloha Concierge! Dave understood our concerns and booked us on an 11 hour tour of Hana. We all agree it was time well spent and the highlight of our time on Maui. We were picked up at our hotel by our driver, Keiko. We had breakfast at a central location and started on the long and winding road. Keiko picked the highlights of Hana stopping at the best places along the way allowing us to take photos , enjoy the scenery or walk down to the water. We saw double rainbows, double waterfalls and spent time on a black sand beach. The lunch stop featured a BBQ chicken lunch with salad at a local flower nursery. The hostess allowed us to tour her garden which was full of a myriad of flowers, bushes and plants. Who knew pointsettias are actually in bloom year round here? The tour spans a twisty , winding road which required Keiko to honk his horn going around bends with No visibility by oncomers. We were thrilled to look out our window and see the cliffs falling off right below our eyesight. The trip usually includes a swim at the Ohe'o Stream and Pools but the weather was not permitting for us that day. We didn't mind as the pools were quite full and almost overflowing. The trip went from desert to temperate to rainforest back to desert. We even saw a bamboo forest. We got some great photos at Charles Lindbergh's gravesite. The highlight of the day was the Lava Tube on the black sand beach. My son still talks about standing in the center of the tube and listening to the waves crash on the beach. The tour ends at at Tedeschi winery which is the only winery located in Maui. Although the tour is lengthy, the changing scenery and frequent stops break up the day. My son was very chill and took some time to rest while he took in the sights. It was a nice break from all of the swimming and snorkeling.

Tips for Families

Plan this trip to break up other active days as it includes alot of sitting time. Skip the wine. It is made from pineapple and not our favorite.
