The Millicent Rogers Museum is one of Taos’ gems in a region crowded with impressive museums. With over 5,000 items displayed over a seemingly endless series of galleries, the museum has a priceless collection of furniture, weaving, rugs, baskets, paintings and pottery. One of the main draws of the museum is their world-famous collection of Native American jewelry, a treasure trove of turquoise and silver. The museum shop has a superb selection of jewelry, pottery and other Native American crafts for sale, to satisfy the longing that the exhibits are sure to inspire! While not a huge museum, at least a couple of hours should be set aside to really enjoy the beautiful things on display. The Millicent Rogers Museum is well worth the short drive from Taos, and is an outing any family will enjoy.
