The 79-acre Missouri Botanical Garden is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the country and is a National Historic Landmark. Among the many themed areas are a Japanese Garden, English Woodland Garden, Gladney Rose Garden and the Climatron geodesic dome greenhouse. Kids will love the playground in the Children's Garden. On summer evenings, families can pack a picnic dinner and enjoy free outdoor concerts. In the winter, families will enjoy the Gardenland Express Holiday Flower and Train Show.

Tips for Families
Families with small children can cut down on the amount of walking required with a narrated tram tour that visits most of the Missouri Botanical Garden's popular attractions. There are two onsite restaurants. The Sassafras Café has a children's menu.
