IMAX-imum fun!!!!Flag review
The IMAX theater at the Museum of Science and Industry (affectionately referred to as MOSI) in Tampa is tons of fun! I have been there to watch educational movies as well as first run popular films, and have never been disappointed. The movie we say on this visit was Born to be Wild, a documentary movie narrated by Morgan Freeman. The kids loved it! MOSI features several films to choose from each day. The theater can be slightly daunting, as it is super tall and the seating goes straight up. Closely monitor children to be sure they do not fall. Also you have to make sure they stay in their seats, because in my opinion it would be easy for them to fall forward. At times while watching an IMAX film you may become dizzy and or disoriented. If this happens, close your eyes and things should return to normal when you reopen them. There are restrooms in close proximity to the theater for your convenience. At night they feature a snack bar with the usual movie time fare, as well as alcoholic beverages. I would have liked for them to have had a soda fountain instead of bottled beverages only. They also have a lounge area to sit while you wait for the theater doors to open. Parking is $4 per car during the day, but is free for evening movies and at all times for museum members.
Tips for Families
- Get there early for choice seating. - Hold onto the little ones as you find your seat - the theater is steep!
