Step aboard the little engine that could on the Mount Washington Cog Railway. This fun train ride actually goes right up the side of a mountain to the highest peak in New Hampshire. As it ascends to its final stop, the train provides vast, panoramic views of the surrounding natural wonders. Passengers can even choose between the historic steam locomotive or the more modern biodiesel engine.

Tips for Families
The Mount Washington Cog Railway features the first cog railway train that can actually climb a mountain. The views at the top are expansive, but cold! It's advised to bring a pair of gloves with you to avoid getting chilly as you climb in elevation. Trains board 15 minutes before their departure time.
