Mud Island, Memphis, Tennessee

Along the banks of the Mississippi river sits Mud Island. Although not actually an island, it is an isolated hotspot for tourists. This small peninsula offers both recreational and educational activities. For instance, the RiverWalk is a an exact replica of the Lower Mississippi river that children can walk through, learning about the rivers course as they do so. The River Museum offers another learning opportunity, going into the river' history in more detail. After educating themselves, families can rent a canoe and explore the Wolf River Harbor, or maybe even catch a concert at the Amphitheater. Without a doubt families should find something of interest on an excursion to Mud Island.
