Honored with ''National'' status by the United States Congress, the National Aviary is the one and only place in the USA to see such varied species of birds. A birdwatchers dream, the Aviary houses more than 600 birds from over 200 different species. Sadly, many of these birds are threatened or endangered, making the site of them a luxury that may only come once in a lifetime. Speckled Owls, Red-crowned Cranes and the Victoria Crowned Pigeon can all be viewed, offering an exclusive look into the lifestyle and personality of birds. For any family member who loves nature, animals or just the sight of something truly special, the National Aviary is a treat.
