The National Museum of Science and service owned by the Icelandic state. It is intended to be a center of archaeological research and cultural historical monuments in the country. Its role is to increase and disseminate knowledge of the cultural heritage of the Icelandic nation from the beginning to the present day and promote the most able to benefit and enjoy the history and heritage of land and people. The bulk of the collection the building houses the National Museum grunnsyningu: Nation - culture and society in 1200 years.
