The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is dedicated to enhancing an understanding and appreciation for the environment, which makes it the perfect place to teach kids about the natural wonders of our world. Three floors of exhibits focus on North Carolina’s natural habitat. All living things from whales to worms are touched on in these exhibits. Giving the museum a hands-on element that can reach kids, Exploration Stations are located around the museum. These stations speak informally about natural history topics, speaking through the use of hands-on materials and animals. In addition, the museum's Discovery Room is geared towards families. In this room, kids can explore the natural world through actually touching fossils, feeling bird wings and smelling tropical scents. Bringing the whole world and more to families' fingertips, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences makes learning as simple as reaching out and touching.
