Families visiting Lisbon, Portugal should stop by the Oceanarium of Lisbon – Oceanario de Lisboa, an indoor aquarium that is the largest of its kind in all of Europe. Its exhibits are designed to educate visitors about the oceans and how our daily lives have an impact on the natural world. There are several habitats to see at the attraction, and they are Global Ocean, North Atlantic, Antarctic, Temperate Pacific and Tropical Indian. Each of these habitats reflects the region it is named after and is home to many types of marine life that can be found there. Audio tours are available for only 2.50 EURO and are available in English, Portuguese, French, Spanish, Italian and German. There are also guided group tours for visitors who want to get an in-depth look at the Oceanarium of Lisbon - Oceanario de Lisboa with the help of a knowledgeable guide who can answer any questions you have. There are a few onsite programs designed specifically for kids, such as the House of Vasco's exhibit that takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am to 12pm where little ones and their parents can take part in fun activities that will teach them about environmental issues. Toddlers can check out the Music for Babies exhibit that happens at 9am on Saturdays and involves dancing to live music in front of the Global Ocean Tank. Visitors are sure to see a good amount of sharks and rays in many of the habitats and there are even penguins located in the Arctic area of the aquarium.
