View AllA great hotel near the National Zoo

The breakfast buffet at the hotel, while it isn't cheap, is a great value because it's so lavish. My kids loved it and we didn't really need lunch because we ate so much (that means it basically fueled an entire day at the Smithsonian!). Make sure you check out the hotel grounds too - there are hammocks as well as chess and backgammon tables.

The National Zoo is right up the street, and the hotel is one Metro stop away from Dupont Circle, home to Kramers Books, one of the city's great bookstores. Walk from there to the Phillips Collection, a wonderful small art museum that's perfect for kids. Next to the hotel, you'll find Rock Creek Park where you can go for an urban hike or even borrow one of the Omni's bikes for a day outdoors.

Open City across the street serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with snacks in between. The baked goods are fantastic and the vibe is friendly.

Pretty nice facility, close to transportation.
We stayed here as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children doing a 6 day tour of Washington D.C. There were many things I liked about the hotel. It had been newly remodeled and it was very pretty inside, though still rather ugly outside. I felt the bathroom in our room was still lacking and seemed in need of repair. The bathroom was also extremely small. The beds were very comfortable and decor of the rooms and the whole facility were very nice. It was clean and seemed to be kept up well. The service was good, but perhaps not what I expected of an Omni Hotel. Yes employees were fairly helpful but nobody went over the top in any way. The outdoor pool was great and the kids enjoyed it. The food at the restaurant...
