First of all.... I'm not exactly a child friendly person and I'm the first one to admit it. Having said that, I did find this museum to be very child friendly. Little kids seemed like they were having fun with all of the hands on exhibits. Many of the exhibits were bilingual. I thought that was pretty cool. The museum is very well laid out to keep everyone attention. There's even a small play area for a little time out. The exterior of the building is very sharp. My big question ....what's with Carrot Top in the Eww! What's Eating You? exhibit? The butterfly room was pretty cool. The butterflies were not being any glass cases - flying through out the room. The staff were pretty friendly. Plan to...
First thing is first...I'm a nanny, which means I'm lucky enough to take advantage of free days and usually can figure out the perfect time to go to museums without them being too crowded. I loved this one! I was a little confused on how to get into the building (hey, I saw the little trails first) but once you go past the bus stop, the entrance is right there. It's nice being greeted with a smile, and everyone I passed had one. I checked out all of the exhibits and really enjoyed one of their current ones, Ewww! What's Eating You? I'm a Carrot Top fan, so, that was a nice surprise. Seriously though, it was fun and informative and the older children running around seemed to really enjoy all of the dif...
This was my little secret, but I'm willing to share it with you. The Nature Museum is my favorite place in the city. For babies, kids, teenagers, and adults. You just cannot go wrong here! I go here any chance that I get. I visit with...
The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum was by far my favorite place to visit on my trip to Chicago. I came with my family, and though this could definitely be considered a children's museum, we had a blast (the youngest of us was 20 at the time). It was a trek to get to the museum, but so worth it. The price was right, and the exhibits were out of this world. I could have stayed in the butterfly sanctuary for hours if they'd have let me. The Chicago Herpetological Society was set up in the museum, and we all had fun holding/watching (Me: watching. NEVER holding.) the reptiles. This place was so much fun. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours and feel like you really learned some new things. Would...
