Awesome experience

Submitted by: Mlbmadrid

My family and I stayed for one night Visiting from waiehu and we couldn't believe our eyes. It was all amazing! We were greeted with a warm aloha spirit and a fresh beverage. It was pineapple mixed with cranberry juice and now I make it back at home. It always will remind me of the wonderful experience at this hotel. I never stayed at a huge hotel before and we were lost considering we had to take certain elevators to get to different floors. The housekeepers and phone operator was very helpful in finding our way to the right direction. Most of the time we followed other guest in and out. As soon as we got to our room it was a big relief from our long journey because the room was newly furnished, wonderful d...

Very unimpressed.

Let me start by saying my Wife and I were very unimpressed by the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua. We were expecting the hotel to be on par with the St Regis Kauai, Mauna Lani, Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. You will be very disappointed if you have stayed and any of these hotels. Here is my list of likes and dislikes... (LIKES) - The buffet breakfast was the highlight - The baby pool - The bed was very comfortable - Self parking (DISLIKES) - The Hotel is not even on the beach, meaning the views even from the ocean view rooms are sub par. - The staff wasn't the most friendly - We weren't greeted on arrival - The resort fee, which I did know about is absolutely outrageous. I am offended that they would charge a resort fe...

Exceptional hotel with odd definition of ocean view

Submitted by: CardinalRK

A beautiful hotel w a great staff. Ritz quality service. Great reasonable priced food for such a high end hotel. Very nice heated pool and beach. An incredible kids club where they teach children about the envirnment with a focus on the ocean. Kapalua is great for golf and getting away from it all although not as lively and full of food choices as Wailea. The one thing about the hotel is that its lay out is a bit odd. The architecht had originally planned to create a hotel parallel to the beach but could not as the remains of locals were identifed where they wanted to build a hotel. This would be fine but for some reason this hotel uses as odd definition of ocean view. Only a very small number of end units a...

Beautiful!

My family enjoyed our weeks stay at the Ritz in Maui. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is more wind and rain on this end of the island, but we had more than enough sunshine and the breeze kept the tempera...

Excellent

The Ritz Carlton in Kapalua, Maui is an opulent property. The town of Kapalua is very upscale with van shuttle service to restaurants and hotels in the Kapalua area. There are tradewinds blowing everyday because of the location and it is always cooler than other parts of Maui. You will never feel hot. The poo...

A beautiful spot in Maui

We love this stately, old (but recently remodeled) hotel. It is so elegant and grand, but also very current and very customer focused. We stayed in a 2 bedroom Residence suite. The room(s) were gorgeous, very well-sized, it was extremely comfortable and spacious for our family of five (Mom and dad and kids 18, 14, 5). The room had a sleeper sofa and two bedrooms, one with a king and one with 2 queens (or doubles, not sure) and two full baths with shower and tubs. There was a large square table in the kitchen/living area, and there was a nicely appointed kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, oven, fridge and freezer. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Pool staff extremely helpful, waiters around the pool l...

Too many problems for a Ritz.

Submitted by: Patteller

Yes, the location is amazing and the hotel itself is pretty nice. However, as a Ritz Carlton and how much it costs to stay here, my expectations in service and quality go way up and I don't feel like the Ritz quite delivered. Also, I went with some family members who booked it on American Express which told them they had breakfast included and a $100 credit, and when they arrived the hotel said they were not included. It was a big and ugly fiasco which should not happen with a Ritz. Anyway, be careful if you book on American Express Online or Travelocity, as they're doing some deceptvie marketing and it's not cool. Better to talk to someone live if you're spending this much money. Things to keep in mind: If ...
