Very bad hotel

Submitted by: Vicente

I spent a week at this hotel expecting to spend a special holiday to the Bahamas because it was a 5-star RIU. The hotel is very run down with many broken windows and various parts of the ceiling to fall, I have pictures ... The smell inside the hotel is horrible smell of fried and vomiting. The rooms are very old and the clothes of the beds will not even talk, cleanliness is very poor. This hotel is ideal for the alcoholic it is all inclusive and we can see the type of customer that goes to this hotel. Outsiders pay the hotel staff to fetch them drinks and towels for them to lie on sun loungers at the hotel. It was a nightmare for me and my wife, I don`t moved to another hotel because we had already paid for...

Awful Experience

Submitted by: KimmaCPA

I could paste a copy of my 1600 word complaint letter about the hotel, but I won't! We were there right after Irene. The Hurricane was nothing. AFTER the Hurricane left was when all the inconveniences occurred...hotel lost power for almost a full day and night. They gave us one of those little minature candles to go up and down 8 flights of stairs, which provided virtually no light. I used the flashlight app on my android phone to use the restroom. A rain shower three days after the hurricane put a hole in the ceiling of the lobby and flooded the lobby entirely, also knocking out all power to the computers. Our room was wet and sour smelling the whole time we were there. When we went to bed at night, it was ...

Mother Daughter Bahamas Trip

Considering hurricane Irene hit the islands less than a week before arrival, the hotel and property were in good shape. Check in was hours late but bar response was prompt. Staff was friendly and helpful. Some of the entertainment was enjoyable for...

OK family get away

Beautiful beach, lots of food, good food at the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. The specialty restaurants leave a bit to be desired. The Steak House and the Alexander were very good the best in my opinion. The room upon check in was not as advertised. Was to be a suite but it was two full sized beds pushed together after paying 600 dollars mo...

Loved it!!!

Submitted by: Crystal

We loved the RIU Paradise Island. We booked the 'superior ocean view' and the view from our 11th floor room was perfect. We had the beach to our right, the pool directly below and Atlantis directly ahead of us and the marina/bridge to Nassau on our left. The ocean is so beautiful we were able to look from our balcony and saw a Sting Ray swim by in the water. The service at the RIU was great. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful through our entire stay. The food was great. A nice buffet with plenty of options was available almost all day, specialty restaurants with a reservation, and a room service menu.We did the dolphin swim at Blue Lagoon island and it was great. I've done it a couple of times before in...

Beach safety Your on your OWN

Submitted by: mother of four

This was the third year in a row we stayed at the RIU Paradise Island all inclusive. The beach and water was beautiful. But one concern was lack of lifeguards watching swimmers. Non existent. Daughter was stung by jellyfish. Only after I ran into dining room looking for vinegar to put on sting was I told they did not have white vinegar, got very little assistance from hotel staff just a little neosporin. Nothing for the sting thank goodness I brought Benadryl with me. The least they could have had was the cheapest remidy WHITE VINEGAR. You are medically on your own. The bed was uncomfortable, minimal amount of pillows. The food was plentiful but overseasoned. The sfaff was verypolite but slow moving. I defin...
