The history of the Rose Hall Great House has all the makings of a thrilling novel. Built in 1770 by John Palmer, it is considered to be the greatest of the Jamaican great houses. Later, the house fell into the hands of Palmer's grandnephew and his young wife, who was also known as the ''White Witch of Rose Hall.'' There is a chilling tale or two to be told about the White Witch's exploits and families will be intrigued by this bewitching history of the Rose Hall Great House. Guests must watch out for the ghost of the White Witch, who is said to roam the halls from time to time. But, all spooky stories aside, the grand architecture of Rose Hall is in itself a reason to visit.
