I had to find a hotel that was convenient to the Orlando-Sanford Airport as our daughter had booked a 6:00 am return flight home to Virginia. After reading all of the excellent reviews, I booked two rooms. Starting with the positives, the staff is warm and welcoming. Fresh cookies at the front desk is a nice touch and made my two small grandsons very happy after spending two hours in the car. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We booked one night at the Holiday Inn Express near the Sanford/Orlando Airport. There is only one other hotel within a few miles of the airport and the reviews were not desirable. We took a chance on the Holiday Inn Express as our flight came in very late and we had to drive to Port Canaveral the next morning. As all the reviews stated—it is marginal at best, but acceptable. The hotel is dated but the room was adequate. They could do themselves a favor by addressing the cleaning crew’s failure to clean the entire room thoroughly.
