Often called ''Queen of the Missions,'' Mission Santa Barbara is known for its architectural beauty. It is said to be the greatest achievement of engineering by the Indian, Mexican and Spanish artisans of Santa Barbara. Founded in 1786, this mission is the tenth of the Franciscan missions of California and still acts as an active church today.
