Exhibits, art classes and family-friendly events make the Schweinfurth Memorial Arts Center a fun place to explore with kids in Auburn, situated in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region in New York. The multi-arts facility offers exhibitions, art classes and programs including music, film, folk arts, poetry, storytelling and more. A series of five changing exhibitions each year include artwork, photography, sculptures, paintings and more. The Art Center offers a variety of classes for adults and children ages six and older. For kids, classes include painting, drawing, storybook-making and clay projects. Drop-In Family Art Making is another fun thing to do with kids at the center. Families can complete a project as a group or complete multiple projects individually. Projects are adaptable for all ages five-years-old and up. Participants will receive instruction and the materials required to make a project, which take about 30 minutes to complete. In addition, the center's event calendar has many exciting art and music shows designed for families. Those interested in quilts love the quilt classes and shows that the art center is known for.
