Bring a jacket if going during Christmas time, bring a camera, and some cash for some of the extra stuff. If you buy a saucier mug you get free refills the rest of the day and $0.99 refills on a return visit.

This makes my third trek to San Antonio for Six Flags and next year we'll probably make a change and go to Dallas'. Begun our journey on a Wednesday with a 3 hour drive leaving from Houston at 9am (why did Astro World close!?!) and found the park relatively easily with our GPS; $15 to park. Lace up those tennis shoes because you're about to do more walking than you probably have done in the past week. We ordered our tickets in advance online, though I was able to get two through mycokerewards and thus avoided the high cost. They didn't check my friend's backpack so we probably could have snuck in outside food and drinks, but oh well. They stopped my other friend for having a lighter though...and then asked h...

The only other theme park experiences in my life were early on, the first being Disneyland when I was about five and maybe three or four experiences later on at Astroworld in Houston. (May she rest in peace.) I think it's maybe been 14 years since I last set foot into a theme park, but I have a feeling my childhood experiences prepared me well for Fiesta Texas. My friends and I packed lots of ready-to-eat foods, such as sandwiches, pudding cups, and fruits such as grapes and apples, in a cooler. Of course, it was a given that we brought sodas and bottled water as well. We got there early at 11am on a Wednesday, making sure to go when kids were still in school. As expected, the lines for rides were much short...

Beautiful park but it's no SeaWorld.  For our kids who are under 10 years old it's very nice but too many "gangsta" types cursing, flicking their cigarettes, etc.  Just makes me feel uneasy.  Park security ...
