My family recently made a stop over at the Space Center Houston as we were driving through Texas. We were all very excited as we drove up but once inside were horribly disappointed. We have visited Cape Canaveral and were hoping for the same educational experience. I found Space Center Houston a tourist trap. Once inside you have to pay for activities. The tram ride was free but not worth the effort. We went on the red tram which made two stops: the astronaut training facility and the rocket park. By the time we made it to the second stop it appeared that most of the tram riders were over the whole experience and I would estimate that 60% of us did not even bother getting off the tram to see the rocket park. NASA should really be ashamed at the way this center is operated.
Tips for Families
Almost all of the activities inside the center require you to shell out additional money.
