Union Station is an interesting sight to see if you can use your imagination to picture what it was like in it's hey-day, but there is not much going on here. There are a few shops and your standard mall food court type eateries. Hard Rock Cafe and Landry's Seafood are in the parking lot. When we were there, there was construction going on in the building itself - it appeared that they were remodeling the area that was supposed to be the Memories Museum, but there was no signage to say so. All entrances to the Union Station building, which is a Doubletree Hotel, had big signs that said that only Registered Hotel Guests were allowed to enter. Most doors were locked. We finally found one door that was unlocked (still had a sign) that we went in so we could see the beautiful interior of the building. We thought about eating lunch in the restaurant there, but felt so unwelcome that we decided to go somewhere else to eat.
Tips for Families
Not much here for kids except for a ride on the escalator.
