Rating for your family
Stax Museum is said to be an ''accident.'' Originally the site of a small record store in a theater, it later become a major recording studio. No one saw its fame coming. Launching the careers of soulful greats such as Isaac Hayes, Otis Redding and Staple Singers, Stax became the capitol of Soul. Nowadays, families with even a slight interest in music should appreciate the Stax museum, a historical walk-through of this sultry spot. Over 2,000 interactive exhibits should keep the kids busy, and artifacts and memorabilia from the heydays of Soul should entertain parents. A musical field trip, the Stax Museum should encourage all to sing along.
