Steamboat Gondola, Steamboat Springs, Colorado

The Gondola at Steamboat is a fun option for families visiting the area in both summer and winter. The views from the gondola of the mountains and Yampa Valley are breathtaking! Passes are good all day, so several trips up the mountain are possible for those who just want to go for the ride. At the top, there’s an excellent restaurant to enjoy, live music and a small gift shop. Thursday afternoons in the summer feature “happy hour,” where the ride and a drink are included for a small price. Summer visitors tend to be hikers and mountain bikers; in the winter it gets busier with skiers and snowboarders. As an alternative, guests can rent snowshoes and take a free guided snowshoe tour at the top. The Steamboat Gondola is a must to experience while vacationing at Steamboat.

Amazing ride to the topFlag review
We took our 9 month old daughter on this gondola ride to the top of Steamboat's mountain with her bulky stroller. It fit! Thankfully...and the operators were great, and patient, with us. At the top is lots of seating and a nice snack bar. Great outdoor space to take in the views and take photos. Great trails at the top of the mountain for a quick hike and overall great scenery. We had a very enjoyable time here!
Tips for Families
There are really no elevators, so be prepared to carry your stroller up and down stairs. However, the day we went it wasn't too busy and a staffer let us use the service elevator which was really nice.
