Relive the luxury of past decades at the Tallac Historic Site. Upon this site once stood a fabulous resort called by many, ''The Grandest Resort in the World''. This famed resort was the vacation destination of choice for elite families of San Francisco. Even today, the remains of the resort and the restored estates on the site draw thousands of visitors annually. Close by is the Kiva picnic area, so families can browse the grounds and then enjoy an old-fashioned picnic lunch. There are many scenic paths to explore, and during June and September, guided walks, building tours and demonstrations are available for the pleasure of guests. During the winter, the site goes through a metamorphosis, becoming a popular cross-country ski area. Kids will love the fresh air, while parents will find much to admire at the Tallac Historic Site.
