Regarded as America’s first museum, the Charleston Museum has a plethora of exhibits for adults and kids that delve into the history and culture of the South Carolina Low Country. The hands-on Kidstory exhibit teaches children of all ages the rich cultural and natural history of Charleston and the Low Country. In addition, special family Saturday programs have themed events that include presentations and craft projects for children of all ages. Themes include archaeology, historic crafts and animals. Kid Tours is a monthly series designed to highlight artifacts from the museum’s collection that have fascinated children for years. Classes, which meet the first Wednesday of every month at 3:30 p.m., include a craft project or activity. This program is for children of all ages.
