The Fremont Troll, Seattle, Washington

Free, Please-Touch ArtFlag review
It’s free, it’s fun, and it’s old-school Seattle – the Fremont Troll is a towering 18 feet high, yet perfectly sized for a photo opportunity. Unlike other trolls who live beneath bridges and menace goats, this one is perfectly harmless. Kids can touch or climb onto the statue, inspect the VW bug, or um, pick his nose. The Troll is part of the Fremont neighborhood’s interactive outdoor art sculptures – wander around the neighborhood and meet a giant statue of Lenin (often outlandishly decorated) or a group of cast aluminum bus riders, to which passerby add hats, scarves and T-shirts.
