The gem of Lake George

Flag review

Tips for Families

Fun to take boat ride Mini-haha out of Lake George or the Adirondack outdoor adventure ropes course with our older child. All kinds of mini-golf spots in the area, we liked the kitchy Around the World spot in downtown. We weren't big fans of the Milliondollar beach at Lake George, but loved the public beach in Bolton Landing and also the swimming in the lake deck at the Sagamore. Also Usher's Park has a great little beach and was a fun spot to watch fireworks from

The grande dame of Lake George

Tips for Families

Definitely book for dinner at La Bella Vita, where the specialty is refined Italian cuisine. Ask for a table outside on the verandah.

Pricey but worth it

Flag review

Tips for Families

Bring your tennis rackets, footballs and basketballs. Stay in a lodge -- roomier, kitchen, less formal than the main hotel and provides space for downtime. We rented a pontoon boat for a day and had a blast, spent a great day on Lake George tubing and swimming.
