This Old Farm Pioneer Village, located adjacent to Paul Bunyan Land in Brainerd Lakes, is a living museum featuring historic buildings housing vintage tools, housewares, toys and collectible antiques as well as the museum proper, containing the largest one-man collection in Central Minnesota. Also known as Birch Ridge Village, this unique spot is the result of the Rademacher family’s multi-generational antique-collecting hobby. Buildings in Birch Ridge Village include a blacksmith shop with working mechanical tools, a barn full of buggies, milking and logging equipment, a doctor’s office, filling station, fire station, post office, sawmill, saloon and much more. The village is a living work of art and several more historic buildings are currently being restored. Happily for visitors, at least four of the buildings double as shops, which are stocked with items from antiques to old-fashioned candy available for purchase. Located just a few miles east of Brainerd on State Highway 18, This Old Farm Pioneer Village and Museum is a unique destination that holds thousands of things of interest for visitors of all ages.
