Tips for Families

I would suggest avoiding a purchase in this store as you would then have to carry your items throughout the day. We save our one or two purchases for NYC exclusives like the M and M store or something with an NYC logo. Check the line at the Ferris Wheel as that may add unwanted time to your visit. Check for "special events" as some of the toy companies run promotions at this location. We were there on the same day as Tony Hawk.

Tips for Families

Prices are jacked up, so do your homework and try not to get caught up in the frenzy. If there's a hard-to-find item, this is the place. But not if you're looking for a bargain.

No matter how much I despise being in Times Square, i cannot help but love this tourist trap. It makes me feel like a little kid again, only now I know why my mother cringed with every step as she walked in here. Its kinda chaotic in here! and I hate chaos. You cant help but want EVE...

This place is RIDICULOUS!  Ridiculous in a good way as this is a mecca for children. If I knew about this place when I was a child, I thoroughly would have bankrupt my parents. I've been here before bringing in guests from out of town but never really thought much about it until I actually had to buy some gifts for a 10-14yr old girl and boy for my company's toy drive. I was overwhelmed by the shelves of toys and I obviously looked flustered as a sales associate asked if I need help.  I asked her what 10-14 yr old girls like nowadays and pointed to the direction of where all the glitter, sparkle, and make up would be. I wasn't impressed with the section since I felt it was inappropriate to be buying make up ...

I always loved Toys R us, but then they go and throw a ferries wheel up in there??? How totally sweet. It's amazing how this store is put together. They have all different sections of different toys: legitazballzz land, hello kitty, barbie, Nikelodeon.  They even have the a toy stucture of NYC. It's truley a wonderful place ...

This place is colossal!  I was floored.  A total sh*tshow.  It was awesome.  It was also the only (and closest) place in the city where I could find what I was looking for at the 11th hour.   I went there to buy a monopoly game board.  The staff member who helped me was super cool and helpful - restored my faith in NYC retail, if only for a moment.  He answered all my questions and even helped me trade up to a newer monopoly version (the city version with credit cards - SOOO dope!  [Note:  Yes, I wrote "dope]). It was total sensory overload at this place.  Chaos in time square.  A ferris wheel inside the store at the entrance.  Screaming, crying kids.  Spiderman and Ironman posing for pictures.  Aggravated p...

one of my favorite places in NYC.  its a tourist attraction as well. store is often busy.  the 60-foot Ferris wheel,  the life-sized T-Rex dinosaur... all are kids' favorites. my favorite would be the 4000 square foot  Barbie house.   Staff in the store are professional and helpful, as a barbie collector, I bought most of my Barbie dolls here, I used to get coupons online, but I havent used coupons for a long long time,  a guy even asked "no coupons this time?" -- he must deal with hundreds of customers every day but he remebers me, a girl has nothing special-- I am not a looker or stunner. and there is a sales lady who seems to know everything about dolls, she is such a nice conversationer, she certainly mo...
