Events for school, county, friends and family, or simply a place to take a hike!Flag review
Mt. Pisgah is about 40 minutes from our home, through lovely farm country in the hills of Pennsylvania. With a lake, hiking trails, a pool, (which is great on the hottest days especially, because the wind through the hills adds to the coolness) a nature center and play areas (including newly added playground structures) there is plenty to enjoy. We have enjoyed school field trips, birthday barbeques, church picnics, Bradford County Youth Field Days, and I am aware there are other special events held annually such as Women in the Wilds, Apple Butter Day and Sugar on Snow. This is one of those tucked away treasures you might miss if you don't take the time to look.
Tips for Families
The pool is surprisingly cool, particularly with the wind, but wonderful on some of our steamier days. There is a snack bar by the pool, but plenty of opportunity available for supplying your own sustenance via BBQ or simple packed lunch. There is a volleyball net with sand beneath so one can engage in a good game of beach ball, minus the beach. There is a butterfly garden on the hill above the pool by the park environmental interpretive center, and hikes and programs are held even at night.
