Kids, especially those with an interest in ships, will find plenty of hands-on exhibits and artifacts at the USS Constitution Museum. The museum, housing the largest collection of USS Constitution-related objects assembled in one location, focuses on the ship’s role in the early republic. The collection contains a wide range of artifacts, spanning the more than 200-year history of the ship. Kids can learn how a wooden hull helped earn the nickname Old Ironsides, and how sailors climbed masts 200 feet high. Nautical fans will also enjoy the museum’s ship modelshows, and perhaps be inspired to buy a ship model kit.
