Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Italy
Piazzale degli Uffizi 6, Florence, Italy 50122| Map |
Florence?s top art museum is the Uffizi Gallery, which showcases paintings from the 1200s to present day. As the most popular tourist attraction in Florence, the Uffizi Gallery gets very crowded, especially during its peak month of July when wait times to gain entrance can be as long as five hours. However, visitors can arrange in advance to purchase tickets, which can cut down waiting time. The Uffizi is popular for a reason. It contains the works of such renowned artists as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and Rembrandt -- plus many more.

Tips for Families
When visiting with kids, take time to admire select pieces (rather than cramming in the entire gallery) and ask them their opinions on certain features such as animals, flowers, or facial expressions depicted.
