Located on the University of Utah campus, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts collects, exhibits, interprets, and preserves a comprehensive collection of more than 19,000 original art objects from around the world. To spark children’s interest in the collections, families can join any number of programs, such as the backpack program. Interested visitors can check out from the front desk a backpack filled with activities, games and puzzles that explore the museum’s collections. Third Saturdays are art activity workshops that use the museum’s exhibits as inspiration for painting or making a craft. These workshops take place from 1 – 4 pm on the third Saturday of each month. In addition, Artful Afternoons help families explore the museum’s traveling exhibits.
