Families can escape the heat during the summer or celebrate the snow in the winter at Village Vacances Valcartier, a large man-made water park located 30 minutes out of the city. When the sun is sizzling, the park is host to 35 slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and a large pirate ship. Preschoolers can check out Cockadoodle Farm (La Ferme CocoRico) and play in the tamer water sprays, while older kids and teenagers can take their shot at the 100-foot high Everest and other exhilarating slides. In the winter, Village Vacances Valcartier transforms from water park to snow slide mania with sledding, skating, snow rafting and sliding down water-turned-snow runs.
