With 23 campgrounds featuring everything from modern trailer pads to rustic tent spaces to cozy cabins, White Mountain National Forest also lays the welcome mat out for overnight guests. During the day, kids and parents can work up a sweat on the cycling and hiking trails, relax with a tasty picnic, enjoy an afternoon of fishing or hunt for rocks and minerals. Summertime guests love splashing in the forest’s swimming areas while winter guests enjoy tubing, sledding, snowmobiling, skiing and snowshoeing. The park is also great for scenic drives and wildlife spotting. Plus, kids will love learning about local animals through the Junior Forest Ranger program and the fantastic Discovery Trail: a 1.5 mile trail featuring 11 interactive learning stations.
