The Yampa River Botanic Park is a beautiful, six-acre escape for Steamboat locals and visitors alike. With its many gardens, ponds, walking trails and berms, the park is a lovely place to slow down and relax. As a botanical park, there is a lot of educational material for those interested in wildflowers and local animals. There are actually over 40 gardens at the Botanic Park, so one would pretty much never run out of things to look at. In the summer, the park is the scene of music concerts and festivals, and general weekend wandering. There’s a pretty lake right in the middle, perfect for families to have picnics, and easy-to-follow paths travel in and around the ponds and trees. As a free venue, The Yampa River Botanic Park is more than worth a visit for families -- it’s a place to make priceless vacation memories, too.
