Jutting out 1080 into the Gulf of Mexico, the 1,080-foot Pier 60 is one of Clearwater, Florida's most famous and iconic attractions. A fishing and pedestrian pier, Pier 60 is ideal not just for catching fish and taking quiet idyllic walks - it's also great for kids, with its telescopes and well-equipped beach playground (one of the largest on the Gulf), as well as for picturesque viewing of Clearwater's beautiful sunsets. Families can also birdwatch and catch glimpses of dolphins playing in the water or have a nice picnic in one of its six covered pavilions. Moms and daughters can treat themselves to some retail therapy while dad and sons try and catch fish for dinner, a breeze with the pier's fully-stocked bait house. Before the end of the day, families can take part in Clearwater's daily festival, "Sunsets at Pier 60," from 6 pm to 9 pm and watch the sun go day to end a perfect day.
