As winter fades into spring, it gets harder to stay inside, even on the chilly days. Pick up something fun while you’re in town to ease the transition when you return home. Whether toys or games—and Seattle loves games—from card to board to video, there’s a place to shop. Make sure to stop by these Seattle toy and game stores to pick up something fun.
A beloved, extremely well-stocked game store in Ballard, you can try before you buy—most games available to purchase have sample copies behind the counter. There are table games, Magic cards and miniatures available, too. If you're feeling completely overwhelmed, ask the staff: They always have great suggestions. In the back of the store, a number of tables host daily events and tournaments. Next door, visit Café Mox for food, cocktails, 16 taps and more. There is also a location called Mox Boarding House, which offers a full-service restaurant in addition to games, tournaments and events.
This video-game store specializes in hard-to-find and imported titles for a huge variety of video game consoles, both current and retro. While the video games are the focus, Pink Gorilla also stocks multiplatform accessories, some card games (Magic The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon), figurines and memorabilia, books, T-shirts and other accessories and video-game soundtracks. Locations include the University District and the International District in Seattle, as well as a location in Bellevue.

There are two locations: the flagship store in Greenwood and a store on the third level of Pacific Place shopping center downtown.
Marbles: The Brain Store
Located in Westlake Center, this store specializes in games that will make you think. (Don’t worry, they’re still fun!) The store is organized by "brain-building categories"—visual perception, memory, critical thinking, coordination and word skills. Not sure what you're looking for? Ask and employees will gladly show you options as well as explain how to play. There are plenty of options for various numbers of people and various ages of players, including indoor and outdoor games. You'll find titles here that aren’t available in other game stores.
