Perfect

Flag review

Our entire family LOVED this hotel!! It was a perfect location to stay, not only because it is right on the beach, but it was so easy to get to every place we wanted to visit in San Diego. The breakfast was a perfect start to our day, the room was beautiful, and because every room has an ocean view, we often brought our breaksfast back up to the room and ate on the balcony, while watching the dolphins play in the ocean just out from the hotel. The pool was heated, which was great for the cooler days of January, and the kids swam everyday after getting back from whatever excursion we had been on that day. There is a wine/cheese/juice/cookie hour at the pool everyday, so we would relax, watch the kids swim and enjoy the view of the beach before getting ready for dinner. The hotel is within walking distance to several restaurants, and grocery stores which was great in the evenings when the kids didn't want to get back in the car and drive anywhere. The kids still ask when we are going back!

Tips for Families

If possible, throw in a few small sand toys...we didn't have any, so had to get creative with a couple frisbees we bought, and the buckets from the kid's lunches at the SD Zoo.

Awesome

Flag review

The combination of animals and rides was perfect for everyone in our family, no matter what the age. We went in January, the weather was perfect (not too hot, not too cold), and the best part was NO crowds!! There was no waiting in lines, the kids got as close as they wanted to the animal exhibits, and were able to spend as much time as they wanted watching the animals. The lines were so non-existant for the rides, that a few times, they didn't even have to get off of them to ride again!

Tips for Families

1. If you sit in the splash/soak zone at the shows, you will get SOAKED!!!! 2. Check the show schedules...we were able to see most of the Shamu show, but left a couple minutes early for the dolphin feeding, and were the first ones there, and didn't have to fight the crowd that was running to get there after the show. 3. We bought the City Pass and the kids chose to come back to Seaworld for a second day they loved it so much! (City Pass was a great deal!!)
