Excellent Service from Old Town Trolley Tours

Flag review

What wonderful service my family and I received from Old Town Trolley Tours in Washington, DC. The tour guides were very informative. The trolley tours save you miles and miles of walking. You can hop on and hop off at any of the designated stops and there are plenty of them. Stops are near the Lincoln Memorial, MLK Memorial, Capital Building, White House and many more. While in DC, hop on the DC Ducks Tour - it's a separate tour but definitely well worth it! Old Town Trolley even went out of their way to drop off several people from the last ride to the destination they needed to go.

Tips for Families

Wonderful learning experience for kids!

Best Cuban Cuisine in Key West!

Flag review

For a real taste of Cuban cuisine, stop by El Meson de Pepe. This is probably our favorite restaurant in Key West, mainly because of its authenticity and great tasting dishes. After watching the famous Key West sunset in Mallory Square, take a short walk over to El Meson for dinner and a cocktail on the back patio listening to some fantastic live music. Service was also second to none!

Tips for Families

El Meson de Pepe has a great kid's menu, which my 3 and 5 year olds thoroughly enjoyed!

Trolley of the Doomed!

Flag review

We had a really fun and ghostly time on this tour! Izzy was a wonderful storyteller and the drive around Key West at night was very enjoyable. We even visited the infamous Robert the Doll! My small children had a blast and met other children their age on the tour. The staff played to all of the kids very well. I definitely recommend the Ghosts and Gravestones tour in Key West!

Tips for Families

Af first, I thought my children, ages 3 & 5, were too young for this tour. But that wasn't the case at all. They had a wonderful time!

Great historic museum in heart of Key West

Flag review

Before visiting Truman Little White House, we knew little of Harry Truman outside of American History 101. However, after thoroughly touring this wonderful island oasis, we left with a newfound perspective on Truman's presidency. Our tour guide, Chris, was awesome. He laid the ground work for giving us great insight on Truman's visits in Key West as well as what was going on in the world during that time. Great tour in Key West!

Tips for Families

The kids were a little young for this place but they seemed to enjoy nosing around :)

Best Way to See Key West!

Flag review

My family and I rode the trolley tour to take advantage of all their stops throughout Key West. We've been to Key West before and know our way around. However, the convenience of the hop on hop off trolley tour is excellent. Our driver, Tim, was awesome and we learned some new things about Key West. Another great thing about Old Town Trolley Tours - we were waiting with several other people to hop on the trolley at a stop. When the next trolley came, there was only room for 3 people. We let the other family get on and the driver radioed for another trolley to come. It was there within 3-5 minutes which was pretty incredible. I highly recommend Old Town Trolley Tours.

Tips for Families

Great way to see all of Key West with the unlimited hop hop off privileges.

Great Restaurant in Boston's South End

Flag review

This is a great restaurant in Boston's South End neighborhood. The honey glazed salmon served over spaghetti squash was incredible. The honey glaze was not too sweet and it still allowed the salmon's natural flavors to come out. I would definitely recommend this place.

Tips for Families

Not the best place for families with kids in the evening. It can be pretty loud.

Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum - Fun and Educational!

Flag review

This was by far the best historic exhibit I've ever been to, especially in Boston. During our trip, we visited the Paul Revere House, Freedom Trail, etc and this one blew them all out of the water. There was some great vision and a lot of effort put into this museum. It is certainly well worth it. It's very hands-on and interactive - you play the role of someone who actually participated in the Tea Party. The actors were incredible. The ship that you board (located on Fort Point Channel) was a phenomenal replica of one of the actual ships. And you get to "throw" tea into the harbor - our kids loved this. You have holographic videos and another film, each about 10 minutes long, discussing events that occurred. It took about an hour and 15 minutes to do the museum. If you're a history buff with kids, this place is for you!

Tips for Families

Check out Abigail's Tea Room, a delightful colonial tea room with excellent pastires.

See All of Boston with Old Town Trolley Tours

Flag review

This is by far the best way to get around Boston and see all of the sites and attractions. You can hop on hop off as many times as you like. We purchased the two day trolley pass and it included either the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum or a Boston Harbor Cruise. We chose the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum ( http://www.bostonteapartyship.com/ ). The trolley is an excellent value compared to hailing for taxis and paying those prices. For your first time on the trolley, we recommend riding around the entire city to hear the history from the very informative tour guides. The rest of the time you're in Boston, you just use it to get where you want to go. There are 20 or so stops and one is well marked. The trolley swings by every 10-15 minutes so wait time is minimal.

Tips for Families

This is the best way to get around with the little ones.

The Old Jail - a Must-See Historical Attraction

Flag review

We went in as part of the Ghosts and Gravestones Tour. What a great tour it was of this historic jail. Apparently the same company that built Alcatraz also built this one. The tour guides were great and the jail is filled with historic guns and other items from that era. It really gives you an insight of how things were back in that time.

Tips for Families

Well-worth a visit!

A Must-See Attraction in St. Augustine

Flag review

This museum is very interesting. When you walk into the "store," you're treated like an actual customer from the early 1900s. The tour guide shows several period pieces as well as state-of-the-art technology from that time. There are times when you can wander about the museum on your own so be sure to take in all the exhibits and artifacts - there's hundred of them. Any history buff could spend hours in here.

Tips for Families

The Oldest Store Museum is highly recommended.
