Whales Galore -

Flag review

Provincetown is the perfect location to take your whale watch. You don't have to wait too long before you see the amazing creatures and you feel like you're a part of a National Geographic documentary. The trip is shorter then others in New England since the geography of P-town is where Whales live best in the area!

Tips for Families

Take dramamine for sea sickness before getting on the boat. Stick with carbs for snacks - bring sunscreen. Although there are plenty of indoor seats with windows, you want to be outside looking at the whales all around you. They are so close- it's beautiful! Even restless children are captivated to see something so massive and alive right next to your boat!

Picturesque Spot Waaayy Up North!

Flag review

A beautiful old hotel that is small enough for your kids to learn their way around easily! Our 7 and 5 year old loved the game room and movie cinema and we were comfortable having them go ahead of us to play and we could meet them there. The pool was very cold though, despite them saying it was heated. In the time since they first opened, I believe their upkeep on the hotel has gone down. The food at the hotel was expensive and terrible - I don't believe any restaurant should serve Kraft Mac -n-Cheese. Pasta and cheese is neither expensive nor difficult to make - it should be made fresh not served from a box, especially for their prices. It's a good hotel but they have a lot to work on to make it what it was when they first re-opened 12 years ago.... I hope they do so because my kids want to go back and I wouldn't mind if we knew we could swim in the pool, and get a decent meal there too.

Tips for Families

Check with the hotel before you go. They do offer kids activities and movies and you may need to sign up for something (ie: in the winter they have sleigh rides!)

Annual Summer Day for young kids

Flag review

This is the place to go with young kids. Forget the high prices of Disney, it's easy to get around, clean and has lots to do for young kids. If you buy your ticket after 3pm, the next day is free so you can stay at one of the many family friendly hotels nearby (We've stayed at the North Conway Grand and been thrilled with it)

Tips for Families

Pack a lunch! The food is yuck and the lines are long - get into the shaded area to eat and enjoy your food from home- you'll be glad for the nourishment as you walk!

Great family hotel

Flag review

Great, cozy, personal hotel. The staff was wonderful! However, we were used to zero-entry pools from Marriott time shares we rented. Best part of this palce was that you could eat outside and your kids can play on the playground, play chess, mini-golf, shuffleboard - and you can still see them! Much better set up then the other hotels in the area for families.

Tips for Families

Do not go "into" Ft Lauderdale at night. The traffic is terrible! When you come out of the hotel, take a left for dinners if you don't stay there!

Wonderful Family Hotel!

Flag review

We love this hotel - went in November 2008 with boys ages 2 and 4. Recently went with ages 3, 6, 8 and loved it just as much! Convenient location and the 2 bedroom unit was perfect for the family - the hotel amenities were perfect for families too! It's hard to go to other hotels after being at this one with the kids.

Tips for Families

Stock up on food at the grocery stores and bring some snacks to the pool! Your kids won't want to leave!

Best Family Hotel and Value

Flag review

Heated, zero-entry pools. Mini golf, splash pad, family activities, playground, outdoor foosball, pool tables, ping pong, green space for playing, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units with kichens, laundry, multiple bathrooms, living areas, porches. This hotel is so comfortable to stay in and in a fabtastic location - 2 minutes to SeaWorld and 15 to Disney. We also went with 2 boys, ages 2 and 4 in 2008 and loved it as much then too. One pool has a pirate ship with 5 or 6 water slides (about 2 feet long) into 1 foot of water. Another pool has a big water slide for bigger kids. Both are a blast!! We can't find another hotel we like as much as this one!

Tips for Families

Shop at the grocery stores about 5 minutes away and stoick your fridge with snacks and water!

SeaWorld, Downtown Disney - honestly, you don't need to leave this hotel if you have little kids. There's even a pool with a water slide for the older kids.
