Ok motel. for sleeping only.

Flag review

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel/Motel. It has 2 different parts: the "Inn" and the suites, we stayed at the "Inn". small basic rooms. clean. looks like it was recently remodeled. no bathtub, no fridge or microwave. very basic. We took a room with 2 queen beds, and the room is about the size of those 2 beds. no extra place for the kids to run around.

Tips for Families

If you plan to cook or it in, this is not the place fr you. you should come here if you stay out all day and only need a place to sleep at the end of the day.

Educational and fun

Flag review

This is a small museum, all about trees and wood. We spent about 2 hours there, the kids loved the elevator that takes you to the top of the tree (extra $4) and the "parachute" that you have to land (while sitting in it) to the target. My 11 years old was ok, but I wouldn't recommend it for older kids.

Tips for Families

Recommended for a rainy day in Portland. If there is a good weather - go somewhere else.

The best kids Museum I have even been to

Flag review

Went there with 11 years old boy and 9 years old girl. The 9 years old girl was as happy as can be, the 11 years old was too old for this museum, but he found things to do. They have there a supermarket area that the kids could load shopping carts and scan products at checkout, clay area that we spend about an hour there just working with the clay and our imagination, a theater with a real stage with dress up and lights, a vet section were you can take care of big furry pets, an outdoor maze, and so much more...

Tips for Families

Great for ages 3-9, wouldn't recommend to take older kids there. The Zoo and the Tree museum are within the same area, so you can plan an entire day there. Museum fee: $10/kid/adult, parking $4.

A connection between 2 hospitals

Flag review

This is a very quick ride, that connects between a medical center on the bottom to a hospital at the top. A bit surprising for a touristic attraction. We didn't know that and were very surprised to find our selfs at to top wondering inside of a hospital. We were expecting more of a museum at the top of the hill, or something. Not a medical center with sick people.

Tips for Families

After searching for a while we did find a balcony with a view to Portland. It was nice to hang there, enjoying the sunny beautiful day that sometimes Portland can offer.

City of books is the name for ,this place

Flag review

This is A block- wide store, filled with books, some gifts and games but mainly a lot of books. It's an amazing store. Never seen something like this before. The kids wondered around, a bit overwhelmed by this store. We picked up a few books and went on. The kids didn't really want to stay there for long.

Tips for Families

There is a nice coffee shop, as part of the store. We had coffee and the kids were happy to get their snacks there.

DreamLand for Kids

Flag review

We went directly to the arcade: tones of different machines, all kids can dream of in one place. The kids spent a couple of hours there, we spent a lot of money, but they had a very good time.

Tips for Families

be prepared to spend. no coins=no fun.

always something to see, unique characters

Flag review

This is the place we go when we have out of town visitors. The combination of fresh air, beach, stores, and unique characters - is a winning combo. It's never boring there, you can always find something to do: just stroll up and down the boardwalk, grab a bite or look at the skaters. Fun for all ages.

Tips for Families

Sunscreen. The sun can be very hot, but you will not feel it due to the wind.
