The Ice Rink (Winter)

Flag review

On Arizona & 5th Ave, every winter at the holiday season. 8,000 square foot rink of pure fun for the kids. Could be crowded, so call ahead of time. There is a snack bar on site, and its very close to 3rd street promenade, so you have many restaurants options in the area.

Tips for Families

Skates are $12 for the entire day.

Sun and Snow in one Trip

Flag review

we spent 4 great days in Palm Springs. During the day it was hot enough to go into the pool, and when it became too cold - we took the tram to the snow! what else can you ask for in one weekend?

Tips for Families

packing is not easy - you need to bring snow gear as well as swim gear

Magical Experience indoor and Out

Flag review

There are galleries, gardens and even a little "treasure hunt" game for kids. So many small beautiful corners inside and out, a great museum for art lovers, and even an outdoor cafeteria to rest a bit and enjoy the view.

Tips for Families

Tickets are free, but you have to reserve them online in advance . Parking is $15.

Great Visit, better for Tweens and Teens

Flag review

We went there with adults visitors that came out of town. It was a mid-trip stop on our road trip from LA to San Francisco. Although this place very unique, The story behind it is what special.

Tips for Families

It was great experience for us, but I can't say the kids were not super excited like we were.

Sea life in a small but fun little Museum

Flag review

The kids are going to this aquarium almost every year as a field trip with the Santa Monica-Malibu school district, they know this place and visited a couple of times. It’s a nice place to visit when you are already in the pier or the beach and need 1-2 more hours to spend.

Tips for Families

Plan a day that includes the Santa Monica pier for about 3 hours (rides), some beach time and / or the Aquarium.

Shopping, People, Restaurants, all in one place

Flag review

We take the kids to 3rd street a lot. Between the street shows, stores, Movies and the restaurants, there is always something to do here. We love the new Hummus Bar Express place, and the kids we usually have a subway or sushi. Its always busy, especially in weekends, so be aware. When the kids are tired you can always take them to the mall, at the end of the promenade, in the middle of the ground floor there are some benches and a place to rest and run around (if needed).

Tips for Families

Around Christmas time the city is doing a family winter activity, check it out if you visit then.

Fun place for all ages

Flag review

Something is going on here every time we come. Families with little kids would love the small playground right when you enter, to your left. "Back on the Beach" restaurant where you can have lunch on the sane (outdoor) or inside. when eating outside, as we usually do, the kids can play outside - adults get some more quite time. there is also the pool, that you have to resister and pay in advance - we never did that, but it looks nice. also there is a splash area, again, for young kids and picnic tables on a first come first serve basis.

Tips for Families

The food in the restaurant is not the best, probably better to bring your own and picnic in one of the public shades available there during the summer.

Great Pool for the kids!

Flag review

The kids LOVED the slide, that is going through a gigantic aquarium. If you are able to slow down while you slide through the tunnel, you can see big fish and even sharks. Pretty cool. There is a section for adults that you can partially sit in the water, as well as a "hidden" pool for adults only (in case you need some rest from the kids).

Tips for Families

Lines for the slide can go long, I was waiting 20 min on my first time. It might be challenging to find a chair at the pool. People leave stuff on them to "reserve" a spot.
