"Old Fashioned" Family Fun

Flag review

This place has old world charm yet all the amenities any family would want; restaurants, bars, lounges (family-friendly lounges:) and mother nature! We booked a suite that had a separate living area for our daughter. The open lounges with pianos were the perfect place to play board games and meet new friends. We were "off the grid" and after the first 20 minutes, our 13 year old daughter didn't even miss her cell phone:)!

Tips for Families

Book a suite with a separate living area and balcony. We stayed over the Easter break and the "Easter bunny" left our daughter's surprises out on the balcony:)

SO Much To Do!

Flag review

SO much space! Even the "smallest" suites have a separate living area. And, the larger suites will have an extra bath - great for teens! The pool and slides will put a smile (and scream) on everyone's face, young and old. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL! The golf course is fantastic! You can rent bikes right there at the resort! Location is great! Right next to an outlet mall and less than a mile from main hwys enabling you to get anywhere in the Phoenix area within minutes!

Tips for Families

Use you in-suite fridge to store food and snacks. Pack a picnic to have by the pools or enjoy the waitstaff service and order reasonably priced lunches right there, "waterfront"!

What a View!

Flag review

What a view from the rim! BUT, please take the time to schedule a hike for the day! The experience is spectacular and the bonding time is precious! The guides provide safety, food, water and a "tour" of the Canyon!

Tips for Families

The Hotel Tovar is a historic landmark! It gives you the feel of old time charm with modern conveniences. We took board games with us and would play in the common areas while being entertained by the professional pianist and getting "beverages" from the lounge:)
