Fun for the Whole Family!

Flag review

Water Country USA is a great water park for the entire family with attractions that appeal to kids and adults of all ages. Aside from being a beautiful park, it is kept incredibly clean! No matter where you are in the park, there are plenty of shaded areas to sit down and relax and take a break from the sun. Our kids, both teenagers, have a great time going on all the water slides, including Vanish Point! We all love the family slides too. Having said that, I’d have to say I think our family favorite would be the Hubba Hubba Highway lazy river! My advice would be to make sure to arrive at the park when it opens in the morning, and head immediately to your family’s favorite slides. The lines will be short for the first couple of hours, and you’ll be able to get on a lot of the slides before it gets crowded closer to lunchtime. Also, be prepared to do a lot of walking! This is a big park and after a couple of hours walking from slide to slide and hiking up and down the stairs at each one, you’ll be happy to take a break for lunch and then spend as much time as you want in the lazy river! It is the most fun attraction in the park … so relaxing! We always have a great time here!

Tips for Families

Arrive early to avoid the long lines later in the afternoon.

Beautiful Disney Resort!

Flag review

Disney’s Polynesian Resort is amazing in so many ways! It is perfect for families because even though there is plenty of Disney here, from the minute you enter this resort you feel as though you are spending your vacation on an island in Hawaii! This place is so beautiful, clean and well cared for. Our room was also very clean and well kept for our entire stay, and there was plenty of room for the four of us. Both my son and daughter love the pool here, especially the waterfall and volcano waterslide. They would have spent the entire vacation in this pool if I let them! The Polynesian also has one of the best views of the Wishes fireworks show every night, either watching from the volcano pool or from the beach. The restaurants here are incredible too! Our favorite is the Kona Café. You have your choice of transportation at the Polynesian, including bus, boat and monorail, which makes getting to and from the parks quick and easy. Finally, from check in to check out, every castmember we came in contact with was friendly and went out of their way to help you. This resort is a splurge, but definitely worth it. We absolutely loved our stay at the Polynesian and can’t wait to stay here again!

Tips for Families

Be sure to take a break from the parks and enjoy this resort! After a day at the Magic Kingdom, jump on the monorail and take a quick ride back to the Polynesian for dinner at the Kona Café or Ohana. After dinner, get a drink at the Tambu Lounge and take it down to the beach to watch the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes fireworks!

Budget friendly, modern hotel

Flag review

We stayed at this hotel for five days while visiting Busch Gardens and Water Country. The main reason I booked a room here was the price and the layout of the room. The room had two queen beds and a pull out sofa bed, which meant that each of the kids had their own bed to sleep in. It also had a mini fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker, which made it easy to eat a few meals in our room during the week. The price for this type of room was an amazing deal! The hotel had a complimentary breakfast every morning too, which saved time when we were going to the parks early in the morning. The hotel and our room were kept clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The reason for the 4 out of 5 rating is that there is no outdoor pool at this hotel. We used the indoor pool once or twice during the week. It was on the small side and had way too much chlorine in it, so we didn't stay for too long. It was clean though and had some cool features. We would stay here again.

Tips for Families

There are a lot of family friendly restaurants close by and within walking distance. Ask at the front desk for menus and suggestions.

Beautiful resort!

Flag review

We have traveled to Williamsburg many times, and we've stayed in several of the hotels and resorts in the area. When we stayed at the Kingsmill Resort in July 2011, it became our favorite place to stay when we visit Busch Gardens and Water Country on vacation. The entire resort is beautifully landscaped and clean. We stayed in a one bedroom suite, and there was more than enough room for the four of us. It had a kitchen, dining area, pull out sofa bed in the living room, washer and dryer, bathroom and a separate master bedroom. The bed was so comfortable! It also had a balcony overlooking the golf course. Our room was cleaned and the beds made up every day, and it was conveniently located near the main pool area and the resort shuttle. We ate a few times at only one of the restaurants at the resort, but we all enjoyed our dinner there. The free resort shuttle to Busch Gardens and Water Country is one of the best things about this resort. It is just a few minutes from both parks. Every day we went to one of the parks in the morning, returned to the resort for a couple of hours in the afternoon and then went back to the park in the evening. We used the resort shuttle all week, and never had to wait longer than a few minutes. It was so convenient! When we were there, the pool area was beautiful. We haven't been to Kingsmill since they put in the new pool complex, so we can't wait to stay here again!

Tips for Families

Be sure to use the free resort shuttle to the parks!

We loved everything about the Wilderness Lodge and would definitely stay here again!

Flag review

Our stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge was amazing! As soon as you walk in, the lobby will take your breath away. The cozy seating areas, the magnificent fireplace and the creek that runs from inside the lobby out to the pool are just a few of the things that invite you to explore everything this hotel has to offer. The pool area had a slide, a pool bar, two hot tubs and a geyser that erupts every hour. The pool area was beautiful and well supervised, and my both my son and daughter loved it! Although we reserved a standard view room, we were given a room with a view of the woods. It had a balcony with an incredible view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks each night! Our room was very comfortable and clean, and housekeeping was wonderful. All of the cast members were so friendly and incredibly helpful. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Tips for Families

When you check in, ask about becoming the "Flag Family" for a day. Also, be sure to eat at the Whispering Canyon Cafe!
