Awesome New Orleans style restaurant

Flag review

Execellent food. I had the BBQ shrimp and couldn't stop mopping up the sauce with bread. My husband had a great steak. My daughter chose the duck spring rolls. My son had chicken strips. We were all happy with our meals. It is a nice restaurant. Probably not good with real little kids as it is a little bit fancy inside.

Tips for Families

They have chicken strips and I think fried shrimp on the kids menu.

An amazing museum!

Flag review

We loved this museum. Watching the movie called something like "Beyond all Boundries" is a must! It is a very engaging movie summarizing the history of World War II. Tom Hanks narrates the film. I would not recommend it for kids under the age of about 7. Some of the bombing scenes can be scary as it feels and looks like the theater gets bombed. You are given a dog tag ID card when entering the museum and you use it to follow a real person's World War II experience. A lot of exhibits are walk-through and extremely well done. I am so glad that we decided to go.

Tips for Families

Use the dog tag ID tags. My kids loved collecting "artifacts" in to their accounts. Don't miss the movie. The submarine was also extremely interesting.

You can't beat the beignets here!

Flag review

The only thing Cafe du Monde serves are beignets, coffee, and milk. Grab a table and pay when you get served. Or you can order from a take out window. They are open 24/7. We went here twice this visit. They are that good! I think it might be cash only.

Tips for Families

I think it might be cash only.

A must for kids!

Flag review

I can not say enough good things about this tour! My kids enjoyed it very much and we all learned a lot. Jill was our guide and she was so good with the kids. Overall she is just a very nice person. My son who has a hard time paying attention was attentive the whole time. I loved all the maps and pictures that she used.

Tips for Families

The tour is 1.5 hours so make sure they have eaten and used the bathroom. It is all outside so you may want sunscreen too.

Great fun for the whole family

Flag review

We loved being so up close to the band. We paid extra for front row seats. I highly recommend that since it is hard for kids to see from further back and you get to skip the half hour wait outside. The music set is only 45 minutes long. The music was good and I am not much of a jazz person.

Tips for Families

Make sure to buy preferred seating.

Interesting quick stop

Flag review

This is a very small museum that has lots of alters in it. It was interesting but had a lot of reading in it. Our family thought it was just ok. We were in and out of it within about 10 minutes.

Tips for Families

Don't go if you have kids under about age 5. They probably wouldn't enjoy it and would probably mess up offerings on the alters.
